Dato’ Abdul Fattah Abdullah
Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, and a warm cooperative greetings to all.
Respected Cooperators, Delegates and Guests,
Alhamdullilah, Praise be to Allah, with His guidance and permission, it is with great honour the Malaysian National Co-operative Movement (ANGKASA) presents its Fourth Edition of the Malaysian Cooperative Products and Services Carnival 2019 (MACCOPS 2019). I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and congratulate our main co-organiser, the Malaysian Cooperative Commission which has collaborated successfully with ANGKASA in achieving and making this event the premier cooperative event in the country.
The theme for this edition, is “Coop Global Gateway to Sustainable Trade”, which marks the beginning of cooperatives transformation in propelling Malaysian cooperatives as equal and value-based partners into the global mainstream economies. It is imperative that co-operatives transform and rebrand themselves as a catalyst of growth for both the community and economy. MACCOPS is uniquely focused on transforming cooperative businesses to a more sophisticated level as well as to opening up more opportunities for cooperatives to discover broader business prospects.
ANGKASA is extremely appreciative for the tremendous magnitude of support from the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development and its agencies as their presence here reaffirms their commitment to spur the growth of the cooperative economic sector and its 6.5 million members. It is imperative cooperatives take advantage of the available facilities and benefits in order to propel their business growth.
MACCOPS 2019 provides an extensive platform for the Malaysian cooperative movement which encompasses the major sectors across the entire socio-economic cooperative activities. This event will give a greater impact and opportunity to all the Malaysian cooperatives, to share their experiences as well as to form a benchmark with the international cooperatives that are participating, apart from offering C2C (Cooperative to Cooperative) businesses and trade programmes.
MACCOPS 2019 is a continuance of a successful opportunity for connecting communities with cooperative businesses at the national as well as the ASEAN level. One of MACCOPS’ goals is to develop and improve socio-economic performance as well as to promote the entrepreneurial activities of the cooperative movement regionally.
All in all, I am confident that our efforts here will help cooperative products and services in penetrating the local market, as well as internationally. It is also with much hope that the cooperative sector will be able to thrive, contribute to the increment of our national income and to achieve what is set out in the National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 (DKN) and Shared Prosperity Vision 2030.
HONESTY, RESPOSIBILITY, OPENNESS,
Wassalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
